Statement from the Chair

Welcome to the new look NAPCE website

Since its inception in 2006 NAPCE has been committed to providing a voice for palliative care educators across the UK. The work of NAPCE has come about as a response to the growing need for palliative care educators of all professions to have a forum for debate, support and the sharing of good practice. It is now established as a leading charitable organisation in this demanding area and is organised and run by experienced palliative care educators.

The opportunity for like minded colleagues to meet, share experiences and support each other is invaluable, but in the current economic climate is becoming increasingly difficult. NAPCE has recognised this and we see the development of our new website as an exciting landmark in providing a more central resource without the need to travel. It has been designed to be attractive to the eye, easy to navigate around and to give educators a wealth of opportunity to access a wide range of material.

Whether you wish to simply browse around to find out what’s happening, seek help with a classroom based issue, join a debate on the forum, or to download some of the information from our educators’ toolkit, there is something for everyone.

We see the website growing and developing over the next few years and would like it to become an indispensible resource for all health care professionals directly involved in the challenging and rewarding field of palliative care education. With your help and feedback we are confident this can be achieved.
